- 01Upload + parse in memoryThe CSV is uploaded over TLS and parsed with Papaparse on the server. Rows are normalized and returned to the browser — the file itself is never persisted.
- 02Threshold-aware exposure mathFor every vendor: (YTD ≥ $2,000 ? YTD × 24%) + (missing W-9 ? $310) × certainty factor. Threshold from OBBBA §70435, rate from IRC §3406, penalty from IRC §6721(a) as adjusted by Rev. Proc. 2024-40.
- 03Certainty from entity classCorp suffixes (Inc, Corp) drop certainty to 15% — usually 1099-exempt. LLC / DBA / sole prop without a TIN raise it to 100%. Verified TIN + non-corp = 85%.
- 04Friction that matches the dollar riskA $50k vendor with no W-9 gets a red banner + mandatory ack. A $1,850 address typo gets a dismissable yellow hint.
We do not run live TIN matches. The IRS TIN Matching program (Pub 2108A) is a manual e-Services portal with no public API. Every finding that requires a live match is labeled "requires IRS TIN Match — 2 min manual step" and links to your existing e-Services account.
Uploads are parsed in-memory only. Your CSV hits our server for parsing over TLS and is discarded immediately after normalization. Nothing is written to disk or a database unless you explicitly save a docket.
We do not fabricate testimonials or customer counts.Landing page shows a live demo dataset. If we get a signed case study one day, it'll be a real one.
Penalty math is IRS-quoted, not rounded up. $310/form comes straight from Rev. Proc. 2024-40 Table 4. If the IRS raises it via a future Rev. Proc., the tool updates the same day.
AI email drafts are drafts.Every AI-authored line is marked "(AI draft — attorney/CPA review recommended)." Escalation cases are flagged with mandatory-review chips before you can export.

For a 15-client firm losing ~30 January hours to manual 1099 cleanup, that's under $2/client/month. Break-even is a single avoided $310 CP2100.
